Bar Codes in SAP ERP
The SappyWMS solution combines know-how gained in a number of projects, development reflecting requirements of customers in terms of logistics and proven functionality of SAP corporate information system modules. SappyWMS was developed in the native development environment of SAP (ABAP) and uses functions of modules for material management and warehouse management MM/WM. Record of stock item movements is based on monitoring unique handling units (HU). Each HU is uniquely identified and each movement is monitored by scanning. An individual HU may represent any packing unit – pallet, box, container or multi-level packing. At the same time you may, for referential information, monitor necessary information for each handling unit – serial number, batch, expiration, date of production, packing order including packing material or volume, reference to material documentation and delivery notes etc. This provides traceability of stocked items.
The system has a ready standard interface for wireless scanners (on-line terminals). The scanner user interface (system displays) are displayed on terminals as HTML pages and use standard components of SAP Internet Transaction Server.
