DCIx JIT

Just-In-Sequence management system

Suppliers to car manufacturers, who ship more complicated components or modules to OEMs´ assembly lines directly, must be able to work in the mode of the so called Just-In-Sequence mode (in Just-In-Sequence Deliveries or ILVS - In Line Vehicle Sequence). The requirement is to arrange and pack components or modules in the right order into unified containers, mark each container and each module with a sequencing label and load the truck in a defined order. Taking into account module construction, cost of production and the number of options, a choice is made between picking from safety stock in sequence (Ship To Sequence) and final assembly in sequence (Assembly To Sequence).

DCIx JIT processes sequential EDI call-offs (sequence forecasts, changes, sequence, changes to specification, cancellation of sequence), prints sequential labels for modules and containers and generates outgoing EDI messages. The system checks accuracy of the module option and correct order in the container, or even the correct order of containers on a truck. For final assembly in sequence, the whole process starts as early as the preparation of parts in the correct order and other check points on the assembly line. Control and verification of accuracy takes place using mobile hand-held terminals, and by scanning barcodes from part labels or even RFID tags.

ico Solution Possibilities of DCIx JIT

  • Pre-configured packages for individual automakers (Audi, BMW, Daimler, Hyundai, KIA Motors, MAN, Škoda, VW)

  • Automated receipt and processing of EDI messages in EDIFACT/Odette and VDA formats (in cooperation with EDI system)

  • Printing of sequential labels for individual parts / modules supplied

  • Label distribution to assembly lines / position shipping according to set rules

  • Printing of summary labels onto special sequential containers

  • Signalling delay against planned pick time

  • Well-ordered control screen for sequential deliveries status

  • Possible check of sequence compliance by means of bar codes

  • Sophisticated shipping back-up modes upon EDI communication interruption

  • Fast response to changes in sequence, handling backlogs

  • „Out of stock" report based on forecasts or own sequence

  • Support of FIFO picking from warehouse

  • Check of picking of correct components (colours)

  • Evaluation of differences between sequence forecast data, own sequence, summary delivery notes and self-billing invoices

System for the management of call-offs

Production and logistics processes support is not commonly integrated in ERP solutions especially in ERP solutions for small business where it's really rare. But there are many automotive suppliers which can't afford to invest in such a big information system even though they also need a system which can help them to meet customers´ requirements especially in orders and expedition processes.

ico Solution Possibilities of DCIx JIT

  • EDI communication in the following formats: EDIFACT, ODETTE, VDA, ANSI X.12

  • Processing call-offs and discrete orders

  • Preset supplier concepts for all OEMs in Europe (Ford, GM, Hyundai/KIA, Nissan, PSA Peugeot Citroen, Renault, Toyota, Volkswagen and others)

  • Support TPS processes (kanban, just-in-time, etc.)

  • Creation of supplier documentation, label printing

  • Inventory management - FIFO support

  • Integrated bar code and RFID technology

  • Traceability

  • Production and purchase planning

  • Call-offs for suppliers

  • Compliance with MMOG/ Logistics Evaluation

ico Competitive Advantages of DCIx JIT

  • Unless you have a corporate system that can handle this, you need DCIx JIT

  • Linking the entire company logistics in a direct link to the DCIx WMS system

  • Even when customer requirements fluctuate, in DCIx Lean you can produce according to a smooth production plan
