WMS DCI MySite controls warehouses in the industrial zone of Liberec

DCI MySite Warehouse Management System Implementation in the AIRS Manufacturing Czech Company for the purpose of external warehouses management and work-in-process evidence

Pilsen, April 28, 2008 -The AIRS Manufacturing Czech Company (AMCZ) that belongs to the significant supranational DENSO Group has selected the DCI MySite information system by Aimtec, a company situated in Pilsen. The DCI MySite Warehouse Management System shall ensure for the AMCZ Company the recording of work-in-process and provide it with actual data necessary for timely and exact financial management and planning. The system implementation project consists of two parallel phases, during which the DCI MySite System shall record the work-in-process within internal logistics processes and, in addition, control warehouses, material replenishment to production and finished products shipping at external providers of logistics services. An important project part is the integration with existing ERP systems Cigma and Helios which ensure production planning and financial management, respectively.

The AMCZ Company was founded in 2002 in the industrial zone of Liberec South in a response to the unceasingly growing requirements for air-conditioning equipment deliveries on the part of a key European car manufacturer. The most significant customers of AMCZ are the companies that form the DENSO Group, as, for example, Denso Manufacturing UK or Denso Manufacturing Czech. These companies receive the majority of the AMCZ's production. With regard to a continuous increase in the number of new projects and the increasing volume of production, the requirement arose to enlarge the production premises in a radical way. The premises should be created by placing the storage areas outside the AMCZ plant premises. The responsibility for storage and material handling, as well as finished products handling shall be passed onto external providers of logistics services, whose premises are adjacent to the AMCZ plant.

Such a radical change and the "remote" cooperation could hardly be manageable without a reliable support tool in form of a logistics information system to manage the new processes. In addition, due to the missing of a similar system AMCZ struggled with imprecise information about the actual work-in-process, which is essential for a correct and timely booking, as well as for production and purchase planning.

Therefore, the management of AMCZ decided to select a new information system that would support these processes in a reliable way, and contacted the Aimtec Company, the solution of which has been successfully used by another company belonging to the DENSO Group, which is also located in the industrial zone of Liberec - Denso Manufacturing Czech. The selected solution - the DCI MySite Warehouse Management System - is based on a unique package identification by bar codes. The system monitors the actual work-in-process, delivers on-line data needed for financial reports and financial planning, and, in addition, controls all logistics processes (including material receipt to warehouse, material issue to production, receipt of finished products to warehouse and shipping to customers at external logistics partners, who will ensure these processes on behalf of AMCZ). The project also covers the integration with the existing ERP systems Cigma and Helios that are used by AMCZ for production planning and financial management, respectively.
