Full document automation in accordance with VDA 4939 in Matador

  • 19/1/2012

For electronic communication with its business partners, Matador uses the TradeSync Integration Manager product from Aimtec. At the same time, Aimtec also administers the corporate information system SAP. For the purpose of printing documents for automaker Volkswagen, Matador uses the TSB generator. This is an application which prepares paper delivery notes with 2D barcodes in accordance with recommendations of VDA 4939, which is binding for all suppliers to the VW group.

TSB generator fully automated

In practice the process is following: Matador generates from the SAP information system an electronic delivery note (ASN) in accordance with the required VDA 4913 standard. This information falls through to TradeSync Integration Manager and serves as input information for creation of delivery notes with 2D barcodes for the TSB generator in accordance with VDA 4939. Responsible person creates a delivery, sends an electronic notification and receives an email with confirmation in a PDF format. This document then only needs to be printed and given to the driver of the appropriate delivery. The whole process, therefore, becomes fully automated and prevents the occurrence of errors on the side of Matador.

In the delivery process for Matador, Aimtec prepared the printing of GTL (Global Transport Label) labels directly in the SAP ERP environment. GTL labels replaced the OTL (Odette Transport Label) labels/VDA 4902.
