EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) is a common indication for electronic data interchange systems. Thanks to EDI, companies with incompatible enterprise systems can change their business correspondence (orders, invoices or delivery notes) in electronic form. EDI systems automatically transfer such documents into standard data formats such as EDIFACT, ODETTE, or VDA, send them via net to a business partner who can transfer them (again with EDI system) to data format used by its ERP system.
